Sorry for the change of address.

Well, what is this blog about? Nothing in particular, and I like that. Science, Religion, Technology, Psychology, The Nature of Truth, the Nature of Storytelling. If it sounds profound, it's not. it's going to be essays that wouldn't feel right on my other blogging home, Watchblog.

I'll see about having something to y'all by tomorrow. Rita's going to come in, and things are going to get pretty interesting around here.

We live just north of San Antonio. We are watching closely and preparing to board up our windows and leave our two story home Friday night if it appears the eye is tracking in this direction. Given the couple hundred miles inland in which wind devastation was wrought in the Gulf from Katrina, we could see tornado and high wind damage here if it tracks to San Antonio.

Having no homeowners insurance due to our building the home ourselves (no one would sell us any), if we are wiped out I sure hope the feds are as willing to help us as they were with Katrina victims. We have poured 7 years of sweat equity and almost $150,000 in materials into our 5 acre homesite. If it is wiped out, bankruptcy is our only choice and screw 'em if they insist on structured repayment.

Every cent of our income will have to go to rebuilding - screw the creditors who were in collusion with the insurance companies to deny us insurance because I am not a licensed contractor and our credit card debt grew from 5% to 28.99% despite the fact that we have never missed a payment.
